Ask yourself – “what’s MY image like?”

I just HAD to do it … I had to send a message in response to one of the “Marketing emails” I received today (the guy’s photo was REALLY unflattering and was on his masthead – it put me right off actually wanting to read the email)  …

“Dear ******  thanks for your latest mailshot, it is well put together and generates interest …. but, with all due respect and in the spirit of trying to help someone, I pass this on to you as someone who is actively associated with marketing and image …. please consider having a professional portrait of yourself taken to add to your mail shots and placed on your website.

The image you are currently using is too small, it has bad colour and hues and really looks amateurish – sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but it really doesn’t do you any favours.

If you want some guidelines, chat to Keith Murray – no obligation to use him – but he will put you straight on image and what to use and what not to use. He jerked the slack out of me, I can assure you. And even if you do nothing else, I suggest you read the blogpost “Most people take lousy photos” ….
