In a nutshell, ONLY mobile phones can now be taken on board in hand luggage – laptops, tablets, kindles must be placed in luggage that goes in the hold of the aircraft. This regulation affects passengers travelling on some direct flights to the UK from certain countries.


How does this affect South Africans travelling to the UK? Any passenger who travels on the following airlines may be affected: Turkish Airlines, Pegasus Airways, Atlas-Global Airlines, Middle East Airlines, EgyptAir, Royal Jordanian, Tunis Air and Saudia.
