Since the launch of the website in 2005 theoverberg.com has become THE website of reference for this region in the southernmost part of the Cape. It is widely regarded as the definitive online business directory and guide to the Overberg – one of the most divergent and inviting areas in South Africa. When the website was developed the excellent SEO (search engine optimisation) ensured that most searches on the internet brought theoverberg.com listings to the top of the search engine pages. This has given the Overberg region more prominence than it ever had in the past.

Goodbye Cowan Properties – Hello, Rawsons, new in Napier

Best 2Cowan Properties has been active and successful in the Real Estate market in Napier and the wider Overberg region for 12 years but the time has come for us, Pat & Neville Cowan, to hang up our SOLD signs and move on to another adventure.

We have made many friends in the rewarding times we’ve had in the lovely village of Napier. We have had so many laughs, fun and even some tears but the whole experience has been magic!

We thank all who have come into contact with us for enriching our lives during this period. We are officially passing our Real Estate business to Altia and Jacques de Lange who will be opening as Rawson Properties on the 1st February 2016 but we will be active and available to conclude existing transactions until then – or even to give advice or guidance on any property-related matters.  Rawson Letter of Introduction

Both of us are confident that Altia and Jacques will provide you with the service and expertise you have come to expect from us and we wish them well in their new venture in Napier – we are pleased to tell you that Rawsons will also be operating from our old premises (next to Gunners Diner) on the Main Road in Napier.

Our Gift Shop – the Cow-an-Bell will also continue to operate under Altia and Jacques’ hand in the same premises.

Thank you for being such an important part of our very pleasant time in Napier. We would love you to stay in touch with us – our email address is: pat.nevillecowan@gmail.com

Yours in fun, laughter and property

Pat & Neville

The Blou Blad is now online …

Front Cover 2014Please pass this information on to your friends who visit the area: The good news is that the popular Blou Blad directory (that indispensible book that is often found by the phone) is now also available online – visit the front page of http://www.theoverberg.com/ website and click the image of the Blou Blad’s cover.

The Blou Blad can be opened while online, or it can be downloaded to your computer. This is the ideal solution for those who are unable to get their own “hard copy” of the latest release.

The online version does NOT contain the local telephone directory nor town maps that are found in the “hard copy” – the reason for this is a copyright issue. Maps of all the towns in the Overberg are available on the http://www.theoverberg.com/ website … just scroll down to the foot of the front page of the website and either “zoom in” on the map, or click on the town’s name to open the page where the town is hosted.

For those businesses and services who are not in this issue – Carol Cooper is taking bookings for next year’s issue – don’t miss out again! (Her contact details are on the inside front cover)

Need a “clear out” at your house?

  • Moving on logoDo you want to sell items of furniture or household goods?
  • Do you need to clear out unwanted bits and pieces?
  • Have you been frustrated (and annoyed) by using Gumtree as your “sales window”?

Moving On (Overberg) could be the solution to what you need done … you decide what you want to sell, you fix the price you want and Moving On will catalogue, photograph and advertise your sale. You don’t even have to move the stuff from A to B … the sale is held at your home and the buyers have to move it out on the same day.

This is NOT an auction! Buyers are allowed into the “viewing rooms” individually (their order is determined by drawing lots) and they can then take a ticket from an item and go and pay for it. The next buyer cannot buy what’s not ticketed.

Houses have BEEN CLEARED within an hour! There’s a lot more to tell you so why don’t you contact Lindy, the Moving On contact person for the Overberg – contact her on in Napier: 028 423 3834 or 084 442 2010

Do you want to see this in operation? There are two sales in Bredasdorp on 10th August … one from 10h00 to 11h00 the second is from 14h00 to 15h00.

If you want to know where to go, you need to visit the Moving On website, and subscribe to the newsletter. The newsletter contains the address (plus directions) to each sale.
