There in your “inbox” was the request from someone you know who has left you a “private message” … the instruction is to “Click on the button below to view it” … so you do … and THEN you are told to “JOIN NOW” to get your message. So you click the appropriate button (because you know the person who sent it to you). And the “teaser” is the list of people on the right of the message, who you know, who you’re told are “already on Zorpia.”
Most people just click away. The next stage is filling in some basic details about yourself and then “allowing access” to the app. … and they click away, because they want to see the “private message,” from the person whom they know WHO WOULD HAVE SENT THEM A PRIVATE MESSAGE TO THEIR EMAIL ADDRESS and not used some obscure application. Duh!
But, anyway … you go through the motions and subsequently find out that suddenly your mailbox is being inundated with “Friend Requests” from people you never heard of … and they don’t want to stop …. and they’re driving you crazy! What happened?
Well, what happened was that somehow (and I’m not sure how), the elves at Zorpia, got hold of your name and mine and put the two together and sent you an invitation. You took the bait and now you’re in the loop of the Zorpians and don’t know how to stop.
It’s easy – go to your account Privacy and your Account settings and change them so that you don’t receive any more requests or notifications. The other thing you can do is go to your email browser (MS Outlook or Webmail or Gmail) and change your SPAM and JUNK MAILÂ settings to automatically re-direct and filter any mail from Zorpia to your SPAM or JUNK MAIL folder. That way they won’t irritate you any more.
If you DO receive an invitation and have not clicked on it to read the “private message” you can scroll to the foot of the email and act on the invitation that they have there to “Block future emails like this.”
Zorpia is a new social media application, originating in the Far East – it is NOT, according to some rumours, a porn site. If you have some porn appearing on your screen it is because you have clicked on something you shouldn’t have and it is not the fault of the person whose name has appeared in your original invitation! Please pass this information on, it might help someone! Try typing “Zorpia” into Google … you’ll get a lot more information there.
Hoe werk dit verstaan ni mooi
Het jy ‘n epos gekry waar hulle se daar is ‘n privaat boodskap van ‘n vriend? My voorstel is vir so ‘n tiepe boodskap te ignoreer. As jy een gekry het, en dit oop gemaak, dan kan jy jou “settings” verander. Stuur vir my ‘n epos as jy meer inligting wil he … info@theoverberg.com
Ja ek ht so n boodskap gekry maar weet ni waar om te gaan kyk vir boodskap christeldekock027@gmail.com is my email adres ek het nie vr so iets geregistreer of weet nie hoe nie en kos dit geld
Hi Cristel – dit kos niks, maar my voorstel is van die ding te “unsubscribe” … gaan na die einde van die boodskap, daar is iets wat se “Block future emails like this”
